A Resolution for the Healthy Development of Youth and Children E-mail
On Wednesday, January 20, 2010, a diverse group of youth service providers, children's and youth advocates, and policy staffers came together to discuss the up-coming year of children's and youth issues at the state and federal level. We also looked at how we can bring children's and youth issues to the forefront during the Minnesota Governor's race. We are currently compiling all of the information gathered at this working session so that we can share it with other children's and youth advocates and with our legislators and candidates. For now, the most important thing is to show that we are a united voice of behalf of children and youth in Minnesota.
 
Looking Back at the Minnesota Campaign E-mail
Minnesota's consistently high ranking in child well being masks the problems that lie just beneath the surface: 149,000 children living in poverty, 80,000 without health insurance and less than 50% enrollment in pre-kindergarten programs.  These were the facts that the Every Child Matters in Minnesota campaign sought to highlight and bring to the attention of candidates, lawmakers and voters.
Our strategies were varied, but the message was consistent, even top ranked states such as Minnesota are failing our children.
 
"Step Up for Kids" Message Delivered in Duluth E-mail
Press event in Duluth drew public attention to children's issues in Minnesota, joining events in cities across the nation.
 
McCain Rally in MN E-mail
On September 19, 2008 Every Child Matters attended Republican presidential candidate John McCain and vice presidential running mate Sarah Palin's "Road to Victory Rally" in Blaine, Minnesota.

			
 
Young People Adopt Platform at Kids Convention E-mail

Young people from around the state came together on the grounds of the State Capitol in St. Paul to get involved in the political process.
