Supporting climate change legislation that protects low-income families from increased costs |

Every
Child Matters has just signed on to a petition that urges the Senate to
pass a climate bill that fully protects low- and moderate-income
families from having to pay more for food, heat and transportation. The
petition, created by the Coalition for Human Needs, includes a letter
which emphasizes support for the House version of the bill which
provides for significantly more low-income consumer refunds:

Child abuse hearing tomorrow, contact Congress today! |

The Congressional Education and Labor subcommittee on Healthy Families
and Communities is conducting a hearing on the reauthorization of the
Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA) tomorrow, November 5th.
We need your help to encourage subcommittee members to address the
10,440 child abuse and neglect fatalities that occurred during the
2001-2007 period.
