Every Child Matters in Nevada joined in the nation's largest grassroots autism walk program, Walk Now for Autism on Saturday, October 11, 2008. The event had a wonderful turn out with over 350 participants who were eager to generate vital funds for autism research and also raise awareness about the increasing prevalence of autism and the need for increased research funding to combat this complex disorder. Every Child Matters in Nevada participated in the Resource Fair and spoke with parents, community providers, and family members about the importance of voting in the upcoming election.

Goshen Community Development Coalition

The Goshen Community Development Coalition sponsored a great event for families at the West Las Vegas Library on Saturday, October 11, 2008. This event was open and free to the community with the hopes of promoting healthy communities. Despite the windy day, hundreds of families and dozens of community organizations came out to enjoy performances in singing, signing, and dancing and share information about the services and organizations in Las Vegas. There were games, raffle prizes, a bounce house, popcorn, cotton candy, sno cones, and other food. Every Child Matters distributed hundreds of stickers and trick-or-treat bags to children and early voting information to adults.
