ECM-LI has created the ECM-LI Fun Patch as a way to bring a visible presence to children’s issues on Long Island. Scouts will receive an ECM-LI Fun Patch by participating in activities that bring awareness to their community. Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of all ages are encouraged to participate. Listed below are easy ways to earn your very own patch! *All 3 categories must be completed to receive a patch.
Contact homeless shelters on Long Island and find out what items they need. Collect items and drop them off to the homeless shelters you’ve contacted.
Write a hand written letter to any elected representative or administrative personnel about any children's issue. Explain its importance on the lives of children and why it needs support.
Attend an ECM event, host an awareness flash mob at the location of your choice, distribute materials and/or fliers in 5 different locations, or have your troop participate in community service.
