Be A Voice for KIDS!

ECM-LI knows that sometimes life gets busy and you find yourself not having as much time as you’d like for other important things. Well, we’ve found time conscious ways for you to be involved with making Every Child Matter that’s easy and gratifying.

VOTE WITH KIDS IN MIND!: The elections are the gateway for parents and advocates of children to let our leaders know that we want candidates that demonstrably support and invest in children. Also, remind people in the community to vote in all elections and to keep children in mind when voting on Election Day. Click here for more voting info in New York.
E-MAIL YOUR ELECTEDS: Ask them where they stand on children's issues. Let them know if they want your vote they need to support children, youth, and families. Click here to email your representatives. Contact your representatives to make children a top national priority.
TALK TO PEOPLE: Start conversations with your neighbor, family, and friends about children's issues. Click here for specific topics to talk about.
WRITE YOUR REPRESENTATIVE: Send a hand written letter to let your elected official know what your concerns on children's issues are and how they affect your community. A letter may take some time to construct and send out, but a simple letter can have a major impact. Click here for some tips to help you write your letter.
BE AN ECM COMMUNITY VOICE: Everyone has 15, 30, or even 60 minutes to be a voice for children. If we all do out part and work together we can really make every child matter. Click here to see how you can utilize your 15 minutes.
PETITIONS & LETTERS: Is there a children's issue that you are passionate about and want to show you support by signing on? Click here to sign on specific petitions.
CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVE: Call your elected and public officials and let them know about issues that affect children and families in your community, town, county, etc. Click here to get the number of your local representative.
MEET YOUR REPRESENTATIVE: Schedule a meeting with your elected official and find out where he/she stands on children's issues. A one-on-one meeting is a great way to see exactly where he/she has children are on their political agenda. Click here for some tips on meeting with elected officials.
